Brazing a three-piece fixture

Brazing a three-piece fixture:

The pieces of this simple fixture are assembled and flux and braze pre-form rings are applied. The assembly is then placed within the coil of the induction heating system.

Induction heat is applied and the assembly is brazed in about 25 seconds...

  • efficiently; heat is applied only where required
  • effectively; batch temp cycling eliminated, increasing through-put
  • uniformly; heat is applied evenly, so braze flows evenly
  • flamelessly; induction heats by creating friction in the part
  • precisely; induction system puts temperature control in your hands

Brazing a 6-branch manifold:

The core and six branches of this manifold are assembled. Flux is applied and braze pre-form rings are applied. The assembly is then placed within the induction heating coil.

Induction heat is applied and the entire assembly is brazed in about 25 seconds:

  • efficiently; heat is applied only where required
  • effectively; batch temp cycling eliminated, increasing through-put
  • uniformly; heat is applied evenly, so braze flows evenly
  • flamelessly; induction heats by creating friction in the part

Soldering a pipe to an elbow:

Flux is applied to the brass elbow and to the copper pipe.

Induction heat is applied, the flux flows and solder is applied. The 2" coupling is fully soldered in about 40 seconds:

Brazing a brass assembly to 1400F:

The parts are pre-brazed and black flux is applied. Braze pre-form rings are applied and the assembly is placed within the induction heating coil.

Induction heat is applied and the entire assembly is brazed in about 35 seconds:

  • efficiently; heat is applied only where required
  • effectively; batch temp cycling eliminated, increasing through-put
  • uniformly; heat is applied evenly, so braze flows evenly
  • flamelessly; induction heats by creating friction in the part
  • precisely; induction system puts temperature control in your hands
  • selectively; metallurgical properties of the parts are preserved

The coil does not get hot, but it induces a current to flow in the assembly. Friction from that current elevates the temperature of the assembly!

Brazing a brass assembly with induction heating

Soldering a reducer assembly:

The parts are assembled with a ring of solder and flux is applied. The assembly is placed within the induction heating coil and power is applied.

The assembly is completed in about 20 seconds:

  • efficiently; heat is applied only where required
  • effectively; batch temp cycling eliminated, increasing through-put
  • uniformly; heat is applied evenly, so braze flows evenly
  • flamelessly; induction heats by creating friction in the part
  • precisely; induction system puts temperature control in your hands
  • selectively; metallurgical properties of the parts are preserved
