Overview

This section of the Application Notebook includes general heating applications that don't fall neatly into other process categories. There are many applications for precision heating where only a portion of the part must be heated to allow the correct operation to occur; specific reports in this section of our database cover heating techniques for nitinol, carbon fiber rods, thin copper wire, valve heads and other materials.

Using Induction

Modern induction heating provides many advantages over other heating methods. Heating with induction provides reliable, repeatable, non-contact and energy-efficient heat in a minimal amount of time. Solid state induction power supplies are capable of heating very small areas with repeatability and precision.

Typical RF power supplies for induction heating range from 3 to 20kW, depending on material and application requirements.
